Our ward is changing, so why shouldn’t its councillor?

For 27 years, we have had the same voice representing a community that has undergone significant development - in population and demographic.

It’s time to elect a new voice - someone who has lived his whole life in the Bleazby Ward, and is ready to serve its residents on community matters.

Is it time for a new community voice?

A personal note - to you

I’ve lived my whole life in Bleazby Ward, and like many of you, I’ve seen firsthand how our community has changed. Yet, despite these changes, there has been one constant… representation that doesn’t listen to us.

I’m stepping up to bring the community leadership our ward deserves - a voice grounded in lifelong connection to our Brighton and Brighton East community.

We all share the same concerns: some of which include rising rates, irresponsible development, and increasing rates of crime. Our interests are the same - we want a councillor who fights for us, not for outsiders or special interests. Together, we can stop the damage being done to our neighborhoods and take back control of our community’s future.

This election is our chance to deliver real change. We can’t afford another term of inaction. Now is the moment to elect someone who will lower rates, protect our community from irresponsible development, and push for greater safety. Vote 1 Jenson Galvin – a candidate from our community, and for our community.

Key Policy Platforms

Vote against rates increases

We shouldn’t be paying more for less.

Year after year, Bayside turns a profit - yet rates continue to increase disproportionate to global economic conditions.

I commit to voting against rates increases.

Stop irresponsible development

Our peaceful suburbs are being dominated by massive developments, leading to more crowded streets, heightened construction noise and destruction of native flora and fauna.

I commit to finding more responsible ways to promote development, and stopping irresponsible construction.

Keep us safe by working to reduce crime

Crime is rife in our community, and our council fails to understand that they have a duty of care in protecting residents.

I commit to continually lobbying the Police Minister as well as Victoria Police for increased patrol and security in our Ward, and beyond.

These three main policy points are presented alongside other policies on issues such as small business support, council responsibility reform, youth sport considerations, environmental processes/procedure review, park usage review and more.
